Update

Bom Dia!

While we thought we would be a month into our time in Brazil by now, we are still waiting and trusting that God will get us there when he wants. We are still in the process of acquiring visas for Brazil, it has been quite long and involved. We have had to compile a long list of documents here as well as wait on several documents from Brazil. Our applications and documentation went to the Consulate a few weeks ago and the Consul officer has requested a few additional documents and modifications. My teammates and I are working on those and hope that the next time our documents are received the Consul will find favor with us and grant us our visas. Once we receive our visas we will be able to buy tickets and head out within the next month or two.
Please be praying for this continued process, our upcoming departure and the work that the Lord will do in Recife. God is so faithful to us and we are trusting in Him and trying to be patient. Thank you for your wonderful support.

We're Leaving in SIX Months!

About six months from today, we will be traveling to Recife, Brazil.

Why, you may ask?

Well, last summer Annika and Alisha went to Recife on a missions internship. They worked with a homeless ministry, youth from several churches; teaching, helping with retreats and building relationships. Needless to say, they fell in love with the people, culture and environment of Brazil. When they left, they felt as though they had just begun to scratch the surface of the opportunities to serve and felt a calling to return.

Enter Kasey. Before the summer, Alisha and Kasey had talked about serving in South America after graduation. With Alisha and Annika's great desire to return to Recife, Kasey became just as excited as they were.

We're preparing to live in Recife to work more with the young people from the Sao Lorenco church and the homeless ministry. We are looking forward to living in community, building relationships, and serving whenever needs arise.

If you would like to help us fund our trip we are selling t-shirts for $13, and other various crafts.

If you're interested please email us.

(Estenda a Sua Mao is Portuguese for 'Reach out your Hand.' We believe these words embody our desire to give of ourselves and walk alongside the people of Recife.)

We love you all!
